Turf Grass King has provided Sunnyvale artificial turf installation since 2010, with transparent pricing starting at $8.99 per square foot for homeowners and businesses across the city. Our synthetic grass is built for Sunnyvale’s compact lots and dense clay soil, holding up against summer heat and daily foot traffic without the watering, mowing, or brown patches a real lawn demands. Every installation is backed by an 8-year manufacturer warranty and completed in 1–3 days, with a free, no-pressure quote delivered within one business day.
Turf Grass King pairs premium turf with expert installation to give Sunnyvale properties outdoor space that performs as well as it looks. As a local, independent installer — not a franchise — we focus on quality craftsmanship, transparent pricing, and customer satisfaction on every Sunnyvale installation, backed by the same 8-year warranty and fast turnaround homeowners expect.
Sunnyvale’s tight, fast-turnover lots and the same dense clay soil found across the South Bay mean an outdoor space only holds up if the base underneath is built right. Every Turf Grass King installation starts with a 3-inch decomposed granite base and a weed-prevention membrane before any turf goes down — the same foundation that keeps lawns flat and drainage working through Santa Clara County’s wet winters. We design each project around how Sunnyvale homeowners actually use their yards: smaller backyards that need to double as a play area and entertaining space, narrow side yards for dogs, and rooftop decks near the tech corridor. Since 2010, we’ve focused on outdoor spaces that stay clean, level, and green year-round without the mowing, edging, or reseeding a real lawn demands.
We design and install custom artificial turf systems for Sunnyvale homes, offices, and multi-family properties. Every project — from a backyard to a corporate courtyard near the tech corridor — is built to the same spec: real drainage, real seaming, and a finish that holds up to daily use.
Our turf cuts watering, mowing, and fertilizing out of your routine. One honest note: Valley Water's Landscape Rebate Program — the rebate Sunnyvale residents qualify for — explicitly excludes artificial turf. Your savings come from eliminated water bills and maintenance costs instead, and we'll tell you that upfront.
At Turf Grass King, we’ve helped Bay Area homeowners and businesses transform their outdoor spaces since 2010 with premium artificial turf that combines beauty, practicality, and long-lasting value. Our experienced team delivers customized installations using high-quality synthetic grass designed for durability, comfort, and realistic appearance. Whether you’re upgrading a backyard, building a pet-friendly yard, or designing a rooftop deck, we provide expert craftsmanship and transparent pricing from consultation to final installation, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction throughout Sunnyvale and the surrounding South Bay.

Yes — Sunnyvale’s dense clay soil is exactly why our installations start with a 3-inch compacted decomposed granite base instead of laying turf straight over dirt. That base layer, paired with a perforated weed-prevention membrane, gives rainwater somewhere to go instead of pooling on the surface during wet winters. Done this way, the turf drains properly and won’t develop the soggy, uneven spots that show up when a base layer is skipped or under-built.
Artificial turf does run warmer than natural grass on direct-sun summer afternoons, when Sunnyvale temperatures regularly climb into the mid-80s. The turf systems we install use lighter-colored fibers and proper infill depth specifically to manage heat buildup, and a quick rinse with a hose cools the surface in seconds, the same way it would cool a sun-warmed patio. For yards with little shade, we’ll talk through fiber color and infill options during your consultation so the surface stays comfortable for kids and pets.
Most Sunnyvale residential installations are finished in 1 to 3 days from the first cut of old sod to the final brushed-in infill. Smaller side yards and dog runs are often done in a single day, while a full backyard or front-yard-plus-backyard conversion typically takes the full three days. Your free quote, delivered within one business day of your consultation, includes the exact timeline for your specific yard before any work begins.
No. California Civil Code Section 4735 makes any HOA rule that bans artificial turf void and unenforceable, and that protection applies to Sunnyvale communities the same as anywhere else in the state. Your HOA can still set reasonable standards — like turf color or blade height — through its architectural review process, but it cannot reject your project outright or force you to keep a natural lawn. We can provide documentation referencing this code section if your HOA board needs it for approval.
Installed artificial turf in Sunnyvale runs $8.99 to $11.00 per square foot, depending on the turf grade and how much site prep your yard needs. A typical Sunnyvale backyard — somewhere around 800 to 1,500 square feet — usually lands between $7,200 and $16,500 installed. That price already includes old lawn removal, a 3-inch decomposed granite base, weed-prevention membrane, and an 8-year manufacturer warranty, so there’s no surprise add-on once the crew shows up.
